Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the DUCSU elections cannot be compared with national elections, but this election will work as a model for national elections.

The adviser said this in response to questions from journalists after the meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order on Tuesday (September 9).

While asked whether these are models in view of the national elections, the adviser said, “Those who are voting DUCSU are all 100 percent educated society. The national elections cannot be compared with this. But it will work as a model. Those who are presiding officers and polling officers here are highly educated. But it will not be the same at the national level. But it is definitely a model.”

He said, “An election is being held after many years. This is definitely a model. We hope that, Allah willing, with all your prayers, the election (DUCSU) will go well.”

The adviser said, “Everyone has participated (in the DUCSU election) spontaneously and is also voting. I was very pleased to see the media reports in the morning.”
