Home Affairs Adviser Lt Col (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (19 April) warned of disciplinary action against police officials failing to control future Awami League rallies.

Speaking at Dhaka’s Airport police station, he expressed concerns about recent police inaction during AL processions.

“Two people have already been detained, and police have been instructed to prevent such rallies going forward,” he said.

He also said efforts to improve law and order, reviewed police station facilities, and hinted at possible reforms in police postings to ease leave challenges for officers.
