The BNP has lodged a complaint in the International Crimes Tribunal, naming former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the chief accused in connection with the nationwide killing of 848 activists during the July-August crackdown.

On Thursday morning (February 13), BNP's legal affairs chief, Salauddin Khan, confirmed the filing of the complaint.

The complaint also implicates former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Information Minister Arafat, and several senior police officials. BNP has submitted a list of the accused, along with audiovisual evidence and copies of 84 case charge sheets, to the tribunal.

According to BNP, from July 1 to August 5 of the previous year, their activists participated in nationwide protests supporting the anti-quota movement. They claim 848 activists were killed during this period and have submitted a list of the deceased, along with case documents, newspaper reports, and multimedia evidence. The party has called for a fair trial and justice for the killings.
