The United Nations has emphasized the need for Bangladesh’s upcoming national parliamentary election to be held in a peaceful, secure, and timely manner. The call was made by Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson of UN Secretary-General António Guterres, during a regular press briefing.

Addressing questions on the election, Farhan Haq stated that the United Nations encourages the organization of elections within the निर्धारित timeframe while ensuring a calm and secure environment for all participants.

He further stressed that voter safety must be guaranteed and that citizens should be able to express their diverse political opinions freely without fear or intimidation.

The UN spokesperson also highlighted the importance of maintaining stability not only during the election period but also before and after the polls, underscoring the need to uphold democratic principles and freedom of expression throughout the entire process.
